The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC), a six-time National Recreation and Parks Association Gold Medal Winner, is seeking a Countywide Therapeutic Recreation Supervisor.   This dynamic leadership role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a county-wide work unit of the Special Programs Division’s Disability Services team to provide impactful experiences for residents of Prince George’s County with disabilities.

The selected candidate will oversee a multi-discipline, high-performing specialized therapeutic programs team of five career team members and approximately fifty seasonal intermittent staff to deliver programs that meet the changing needs of the disability community.  The candidate will be responsible for oversight, and supervision of team members who provide comprehensive and innovative therapeutic recreation programs, including adapted aquatics lessons and classes, a popular membership program for veterans with disabilities, social skills summer camps, day-time programs for adults with developmental disabilities, weekend social clubs, trips and excursions, signature special events including annual dances and adaptive sports clinics and tournaments.  This position also oversees the staff training, community outreach, and marketing efforts for the Disability Services. Assist with ensuring the Department is compliant with ADA guidelines and requirements.  

The candidate will report directly to the Department’s Disability Services Manager and plays a vital role in ensuring equal access to all programs, activities and services by fostering opportunities for engagement, learning, and choice!   The Disability Services: Therapeutic Recreation Programs & Program Access celebrated 50 years of serving individuals with special needs and disabilities throughout Prince George’s County 1974-2024.      ,

Please Note:  The salary range listed above shows the earning potential for this position.  The hiring salary for this position is $73,523 - $103,068, with eventual progression up to $132,614. Salary is commensurate with relevant experience and education.  This Position is eligible for Sign- On Bonus.
